Fedasil has just published its 2015 review. 2015 was an eventful year, marked by a sudden influx of asylum seekers in Belgium and elsewhere in Europe.

In Belgium, asylum seekers have the right to material assistance and accommodation as long as the examination of their asylum application is pending. But where do they go after their stay in the reception centre?

Recently, a call for tender was issued within the context of the European Reintegration Network Specific Action. 

In response to the large influx of asylum seekers in Belgium, Fedasil is increasing the capacity of the reception network.

On Monday the 27th of July, UNHCR and Fedasil launched a report entitled “All Born on 01/01” which examines the situation of Afghan asylum seekers residing in collective reception centres in Belgium.

From 9 to 11 March, Fedasil travelled to Geneva for a CSI thematic meeting about voluntary return. 

In 2014 Fedasil and its partners organised reception for 16,566 asylum seekers, which is an increase of 7% compared to 2013.
